The Extension Program is designed as a service for parents who need additional before- and after-school care for children enrolled at Woodlands. Extension offers students opportunities for art activities, games, reading and outdoor play, as well as time to finish homework. Students decide which activities they would like to participate in. A nutritious snack is available during afternoon Extension.
Extension is open on school days only; not during vacation, conferences or staff days. Students who are not picked up at regular dismissal time are automatically taken to Extension.
Parents must undergo check-in and check-out procedures when dropping off and picking up their children at Extension.
Hours of Operation for Extension are:
School-day Mornings: 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
School-day Afternoons: 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Library is available from 3:15 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. for students to complete their homework, supervised by the school librarian. Students can use this time to study, complete homework or to use the additional Library resources. At 4:30 p.m., students utilizing the library for Study Hall return to the Extension program to be picked up by a parent or other authorized adult.
Students are not permitted to bring toys or electronic devices (cell phones, e-readers, electronic music devices, etc.) from home (just as this practice is discouraged during school time).
Families who utilize Extension services are billed monthly.
