2007-2008 School Goals

       Woodlands School sets annual goals as a way to continually improve the curriculum, methods and climate of our school.  The following is a summary of goals as developed by faculty and the Woodlands School Board of Trustees:

Strategic Goal 1: Improve the academic skills of all students

       Improve student overall achievement by:

• Upgrading the reading curriculum in Grades 1 and 2
• Updating the science curriculum in Grades 1-8
• Continuing the implementation of the revised math curriculum in Gr. 1-8

Strategic Goal 2 – Promote lifelong learning goals and objectives for Woodlands students

• Improve the portfolio assessment process by creating more consistent and uniform criteria for content
• Update the Time for Living curriculum by developing a scope and sequence for the program

Strategic Goal 3 – Enhance satisfaction levels and involvement of stakeholders (teachers, staff and parents)

• Achieve high levels of satisfaction with stakeholders by improving communication

Strategic Goal 4 – Improve the financial strength and flexibility and the overall school operations

• Continue the implementation of the multiyear Workforce Development Plan by creating more equitable benefits and reviewing the teaching assistant salary/benefit package
• Conduct a feasibility study of future space needs for Woodlands School
